A.D.A.P.T. Community Meeting
Sat., Feb. 6th at 9:00 AM via Zoom

Let's keep the 2021 momentum going with one of the most requested training topics -- radio communications!

Our very own radio expert, Jon Mosby, will walk us through the importance of radio communications during a disaster. He will be available for Q&A at the end of the meeting. Just like our other monthly meetings, this will be held on the first Saturday of February and will begin promptly at 9:00 AM.
After this short and introductory seminar, you will leave knowing what to look for when purchasing radios, why they're crucial to use during a disaster, and a few basic how-to's. We're very excited to kick off radio communications training, since we know this won't be our last. We look forward to seeing you on our zoom call!

Volunteer Spotlight

After many years of dedicated service to the Town of Atherton and A.D.A.P.T., our former board member, Colleen Haight has stepped down from her position. Colleen’s family (including her husband, her father, and lovely dogs) decided it would be an opportune time to move to Nevada. She was able to sell her home in Atherton and still keep her well-loved job at San Jose State.

We will miss Colleen dearly and we hope she still joins some of these virtual community meetings. Her proactivity, decisiveness, and hospitality were a perfect representation of some of our group's core values.

We wish you the best, Colleen!

Last Month’s Meeting

If you missed our January meeting (Home Safety — An Expert Panel), please feel free to visit the Meeting Recap page and learn all about fire safety and first aid supplies. We encourage you to share this link with other neighbors who may not have been able to attend.

News and Updates

  • At this time, under the current County COVID restrictions, the Atherton Police Department is not allowing entry into the amateur radio room unless there is a declared disaster/emergency.
  • Subscribe and check out our growing YouTube Channel videos. We are actively adding and creating content to help educate you and your neighbors.
