Atherton Areas

Atherton has been divided into 14 areas to facilitate emergency preparedness and response at the neighborhood level.

Each area has its own Area Number, volunteer leader (Area Coordinator), and pre-assigned gathering spot (Emergency Assembly Point).

Area Numbers

To find out what area your home is in, please use the address lookup tool on our home page.

Emergency Assembly Points (EAPs)

Much like a designated assembly area at a school where children gather during a fire drill or emergency, EAP’s do essentially the same for Atherton residents, so that neighbors can get and give help during a major emergency.

Area Coordinators

Your Area Coordinator is there to assist with your household’s emergency preparedness efforts and, when feasible, to act as a facilitator for local disaster response activities.

Area Maps

Knowing your neighborhood is an important part of emergency preparedness and response. We recommend printing out your area map and using it to decide on your emergency assembly point(s), evacuation routes, neighborhood contacts, and more.
