September 2020 Community Meeting Summary
The Sept 2020 meeting topic was emergency planning. Tom Prussing covered smoke remediation tips, fire season recommendations, and alternative power sources during brownouts. Jeanne Jensen conducted a workshop on creating an emergency plan for your household.
In the Q&A, experts discussed a variety of topics such as: why you might leave a note for first responders, how to set up a clean room to protect yourself from unhealthy indoor air, where to find Boost Oxygen canisters, tips for evacuating if roads are blocked by trees, why an out-of-state contact is so important, the benefits of PurpleAir sensors, how to plan for second-story escapes, and more.
Special thanks to Chief McCulley and Mayor DeGolia for joining.
NOTE: The phone number for Atherton Police Department is listed incorrectly on the original Family Emergency Plan template. Please make sure to update your contact list: Atherton Police Department: (650) 688-6500.
