A.D.A.P.T. Leads Atherton’s 4th Annual Emergency Preparedness Drill
On September 7th Atherton & A.D.A.P.T. held the 4th annual emergency preparedness drill in Holbrook-Palmer Park. With more than 100 participants including the town’s mayor, Bill Widmer, the group was able to respond to simulated post-earthquake disasters and emergencies all throughout the immediate neighborhood. These were created and crafted specifically for scenarios that the town of Atherton could experience. There were organized teams who set out to rescue, observe, report and perform faux medical treatment based on incidents planted around the town. This included a 15-person recovery operation from a staged car collision. The drill was a huge success with a high degree of participation. Attendees gained new skills that will prove to be useful for themselves and those in need of help.
